It's touted as the answer to everything from weight loss and improving memory to alleviating arthritis pain. Does it work? Beats me. Since I like cinnamon and don't get a sufficient amount in the foods I eat regularly, I've been taking cinnamon capsules for a few months in the hope that it might work to regulate my blood sugar and lower my LDL levels. My results have been good but truthfully, I have no idea whether it's thanks to the cinnamon, the other changes in diet I've put into effect or a combination of the two. Since I don't seem to be suffering any ill effects from the cinnamon capsules and may actually be reaping a benefit, I plan to continue them.
The capsules that I had been taking are much more potent than the New Chapter Cinnamonforce capsules. I had been ingesting 2 to 3 grams a day as opposed to the 140 mg recommended by New Chapter. True, my old capsules are Cinnamomum Cassia and not the combination of Cinnamomum Aromaticum (cassia) and Cinnamomum Verum that's contained in the Cinnamonforce, but as I read that several studies were conducted using only the cassia (which is cheaper and more commonly available), I'm not sure how noteworthy that is.
In short, the Cinnamonforce capsules are small, very pleasant tasting and easy to take but are significantly less potent and more expensive than many other available brands of cinnamon capsules on the market.
